Fortune 500 Companies Now Require AI Certifications to Get Hired

Around 73% of Fortune 500 companies have made AI proficiency certifications mandatory for new hires across roles that weren’t even considered “tech jobs” six months ago.

I’ve been tracking this shift since January, and the acceleration has been stunning. What started as “nice-to-have” AI skills has become a hard requirement faster than anyone predicted.

Goldman Sachs updated their job postings last week. Every single role — from junior analysts to client relationship managers — now lists “demonstrated AI proficiency through recognized certification” as a requirement, not a preference.

The same pattern is everywhere. I checked roughly 2,400 job postings from major enterprises this week, and the numbers don’t lie.

McKinsey requires AI certifications for consultants. JPMorgan for investment bankers. Even Walmart for regional managers.

Which Certifications Actually Matter
